Oh no it’s starting all over again.

You can’t please everyone. There are aspects of this new kit I don’t like that much, but if every single person starts pointing out to small changes they’d want, we’ll never get there (again). Unless they want to be in charge of the whole thing themselves of course.

Exactly. Most of the reason this has gone on for so long is that plenty of people were happy to have a moan but not actually do anything, no surprises there.

Congratulations to Rogan and Andy for going ahead and doing something and then going to the committee with a range of options.
Oh hell -not all this again! I would like to caution (again) on AGM vote, firstly not all can attend and not all use the internet so voting would need to be postal, but anyway, AGMs are for rule changes and elections. Since we elect a committee we do so to enable them to make decisions on our behalf. Leave it to them and go with the flow! BTW I quite like the kit - no doubt it could be changed a bit here and there but not to any monumental advantage - nobody really rubbished it on the club run and indecision, as in the european debt crisis is the worst possible option as everyone will delay buying kit until it is sorted. come on guys! 8)

Agree Alan, personally I think that this is exactly the sort of thing that the committee is there for and entrusted to do. Anyone can be voted on to the committee if they want to, someone could have asked to be voted on at the last AGM and then taken control of the kit change and got all the designs arranged for decision. No-one did, again no surprise.

Not from a visability point of view it isn't particularly when racing I like to be seen when I'm hammering up and down dual carriageways in the early morning. Also the club's predominant colour is yellow/gold and that should be the predominant colour on club kit. Abandon the club's colours and you turn you back on a lot of it's heritage and identity.
As for sponsorship... why would anyone want to become a walking billboard for a corporate entity when the club isn't short of funds?

Exactly. I agree with Grahame and Amy, I don't want to wear club kit with a sponsor emblazoned on it and you have to consider longevity as with the design. You don't want something that will look old fashioned in a couple of years and nor do you want to have to keep changing for new sponsors. Change of cycling kit is expensive, not just for us buying but also the logistics of ordering, stocking, storing etc. We are lucky that we have a good deal with GBs stocking our kit as if you do not have this arrangement with a shop (which the vast majority of clubs don't) then it can be a right nightmare - who's going to do all the ordering? who's going to store it all? etc, etc. You need to look at kit as having a good number of years lifespan.

Another issue with sponsors is that for racing (TTs certainly) you can only race in kit with a sponsors name on it if that sponsor is the current sponsor of the club you are riding for (e.g. you wear your club kit or plain kit and not pro kit you happen to like). This can make it very expensive if you have to throw away a perfectly good skinsuit and buy a new one just because your sponsor has changed. Far from saving people money it would actually cost a lot more.
These were the designs that Rogan had drawn up by the Italian designers and Andy Watmore

Congratulations guys and I feel sorry for the amount of grief you're getting, even indirectly, when you have gone out and done something many on here have moaned about but not been prepare to do anything about themselves.

Personally I think all of the designs are a refreshing update and would be happy for any of them, except the black one for the reasons mentioned above. Obviously I have my preferred choices but I'm not saying them here.

Look it's simple, Committee picks two designs and then the existing members vote, first past the post wins. Done and dusted! :D

Agree, great suggestion!

That is exactly what was decided at the last committee meeting.

Big big thanks Rogan and Andy Watmore for what you've achieved. I hope 2a is the winner; although they generally all look quite good :D

I don't mind which design or which colour, so long as it comes in XXL size for Tox (Plural spelling as there is now more of him) who I understand now has a belly :D

I don't know. It's all a bit fussy. Something simpler maybe:

I have no talent for drawing.
Do the jerseys' have a Founded 1929 on them? Would be good detailing for the collar for example.

"Estd. 1929" is on the back of the apres-race/casual polo shirts.

Jon looked in to getting some a while ago but the problem was that they looked somewhat cost prohibitive. To get ones with the badge on the breast etc are expensive and you need to make minimum orders, someone has to collate and distribute, etc, etc. Lots of problems involved.

I discovered through the Old Ports that they have a shop set up with spreadshirt who do simpler designs, you design according to set templates. I did a simple one to keep the cost reasonable, adding badges, extra colours, design detail etc all keeps bumping up the price.

I went for a simple design and ordered one to see what they were like and took it to a committee meeting for approval, which was given. Unfortunately I then got caught up in lots of things which meant I forgot about it for rather a long time, eventually I created a shop with the shirt in though. It is currently under my login and once Marco has finished all the work is doing then he will sort out a new addiscombe email address so I can switch the login so it can be handled by anyone in the club given the details - for adding different products say. He will also create a link from the website and try and tweak the colour scheme to a more ACC yellow and black.

The service I got was excellent and the shirt was sent quickly, the quality is superb, very soft Turkish cotton. They are a slim fit and as a guide I am a 38" chest and have a medium. It has been worn and washed (inside out as transfer printed, on a delicates wash and not tumble dried) all season as I have used it as post race wear. and it has retained it's colour as new and the printing is still perfect. I've been very impressed.

If you want one now then you can get them at the link below, or wait until Marco has had a chance to set up the link/web etc. The price is cost, no money made on top to either me or the club which can be added in the setup but obviously I didn't do that. The way spreadshirt works is that the cost is per garment and takes in to account setting up the printing, so if you order more than one then the cost comes down due to the economics of setting up the printing for multiples being the same as for one, so if you club together to put an order through then the price per polo shirt drops.
