I can't see how they can fight for GC and the sprints. HTC's success was about being able to put a bunch of strong guys on the front and pull the race back together for the sprint - Cav didn't necessarily need the leadout, but he did need there to be a bunch sprint. You can't waste your GC guys on such ventures day after day.

Might you be able to do this if you have a large enough team - what is the TDF team size limit?

With 14 stages classified as 'road', expect Cav to get 14 stage wins :D

Best signing for Sky, Bernhard Eisel, excellent team captain on the road.

Wiggins will move on, he has a reputation for it. Probably next year.

Only 9 riders for a TDF team, squads are much bigger tho' as there are more than one race going on at the same time and IIRC- part of the deal is that teams have to race in certain events.

Yellow & Green is doable; Telekom did it in 1997 with Ullrich & Zabel.

Cav doesnt always need a lead out, he does need other sprinter only teams to chase down the breaks on the flat days, and I reckon they will if Sky are fighting for the yellow. The other sprinter teams are not going to want to give up their chance of maybe winning a sprint.

Cheers

Correct. Merckx 1969 won yellow, green and polka dot. Had there been a white jersey competition he would've won that too.
