FFS, this has dragged on interminably as people moaned about kit but did nothing about it. 2 members have very kindly put the work in and come up with a variety of options, a decision on the voting has been made which is open to every club member.

Can we just get on with it rather than write another book on the art of faffing.

There are a number of ways a vote could be carried out but a fair decision has been made for a completely open vote. Some won't be able to make the AGM, but some wouldn't be able to make or do any other fair way you do, even if you did a mass email or mailout it would take ages, involve a lot of work for someone to collate, and with the bouncebacks that occur some people don't keep the club up to date with their details so would be missed that way.

Let's just go to the AGM, vote, and then let the new kit get made up, and stop all this pointless drivel.

[quote="Antloony"]does it really matter if the odd non paid up member slips through the net and gets a vote

[quote="Antloony"]So just do it over one week....blah, blah, blah....Surely the vote of the majority should count and putting it out to the largest audience and giving them the option to vote makes more sense.

So just turn up to the AGM and have your say, on this and on the rest of how your club is run. Don't fail to come along and say you weren't represented. You've had over a month's notice of the date.

The end (please).

Perhaps there should be a vote about voting at the AGM?

There was, Paul, and you and me were out-voted.

given that the vote on which kit isn't until 7th Dec, is it likely we'll be able to add this to our Christmas lists, or should our families be resigned to once again buying Wiggle vouchers to feed our addiction.

Once the design is decided it will probably take until at least next April before anyone is wearing it.

The design is going to be voted on at the AGM. After that then liasion with GBs needs to be done to sort getting the design to Santini, and bound to be a few production queries (exact bits of kit being ordered, size of initial order etc). I'm not involved and never have been in anything like this but would imagine that it takes a little while. We'll probably get a decent lead time due to GBs relationship with Santini and the likely size of the order, but what decent is for an Italian clothing firm I don't know.

Why Santani? The quality of the le col is certainly better so if we are going to such great lengths as voting at the AGM why can we not have some evaluation of the costs/benefits of the fabrication and materials? Assuming GB is the point of purchase I feel sure they needn't be tied into one supplier.

If the film "Gomorrah" is anything to go by, only a couple of weeks

Le Col is better quality as it is much more expensive, it is close to Assos prices and way too much for club kit.

We are tied to Santini, by my understanding, as GB have a good relationship with them and they are their preferred manufacturer. We can therefore only get the deals we can on kit and more importantly have it supplied through GBs if we use Santini. We have to keep the supply chain through GBs as they do all the ordering, stock control, and sales for the club and will also assist in all the set up and design processes with Santini.

Personally I like Santini kit and have often bought it through choice. It is as good quality as any other similar priced kit such as Nalini.

Not sure if this was discussed but once we have determined the design choice at the AGM is there an opportunity here to introduce different colour tops for club champions in different disciplines (road racing, TT, CX etc) or maybe not different colour but rainbow stripes. Alternativily a feature to denote Club Captains? These could be funded by the clubs and hannded out at the Club Dinner

Also now that I have seen the new potential kit being modelled by people, the shorts and the tops do not match or link together, perhaps this was deliberate if not I'm sure that when we go to Santini we can adjust slightly but still keepng the overall new look.....

I love the idea about the different colour shirts. We voted for the other shorts not the ones we are 'modelling'. But they still needs to be co-ordinated properly.

Anyway, all this might be completely irrelevant - there IS going to be a 'no change vote' at AGM. So we might end up with the current kit for another year!

As I said, if you do it at the AGM you run the risk of this. AGMs are for rule changes and electing officials to make decisions - what a balls up!
