Brighton Routes

Hi

Can anyone suggest a good route back from Brighton.
I'm probably going for a bit of a spin Sunday morning around 8.30 following the usual: Bletchingly, Turners Hill, Ardingly, Lindfield and Ditchling ([url]http://tinyurl.com/c7rekfy[/url] )
I'll be stopping for lunch and then coming back a different route ideally. I'd rather keep it to nice roads, so if you know a good route I'd like to hear it.
Think there's 2 or 3 of us doing it so far, but the more the merrier. I reckon we'll be around 18s.

This is the usual Clubrun route back from Brighton, there are a couple of turnings that are easily missed though so check it out on a map first.

Up over Devils Dyke down to Poynings from here continue in a straight north direction until you come to the B2116

Here turn left and the right up through Wineham which leads to spronketts lane straight ahead towards Slaugham.

Make sure you turn left at the pond signposted lower Beeding then up to Hammerponds.

Turn right up the short sharp climb along Grouse Rd this takes up up through the Forest after a couple of miles left for Colgate.

Left and right at Colgate for Faygate and reverse Clubrun back home.

Or go back out through Shoreham - I often take a Group back this way - good quiet lanes and roads and not quite so much climbing - No Devil's Dyke. Pass Over the wooden bridge, pass the airport, pass the famous posh school - Lancing College - and just keep heading north, through Steyning, B2135, right into Partridge Green, left towards Littleworth and keep heading north, Monk's Gate - turn right and then left to Lower beeding and pick up the Hammer ponds and the usual Brighton club run route home.

We had a very nice ride down to the Regency Restaurant in Brighton on Sunday.
