Winterval drinks

Postby Phil H » Wed Nov 30, 2011 11:51 pm

As we move into December and we look to mark the birth of Alberto Contador, I was wondering if we might at least have a go at being agreeable to each other.

As you probably know, I am not a great frequenter of drinking houses but one establishment that seems pretty central for people and does a good range of different ales is the Green Dragon in Croydon. I believe that they will even serve a glass of wine for the ladies.

I'm easy - any day will do me. And a glass of wine should really do it for me...

But if I have to go for a date, then Thursday.

Agree about the loud music - that really got to me last time.

What about the Spread Eagle?

Any chance of a beer??
If so, then I might be tempted out! Thursday is probably a good night for me.

I've got another do on Thursday evening so voted for Friday.
Actually, I've got a work do on Friday afternoon so if it turns out to be Friday I'll already be messy by the evening.

[quote="marco"]Half n Half downstairs may be better if its free on those days.

Half n' Half is tarty now, was last time I was there. Full of people drinking cocktails, which aside from being naff means that it took ages to get served while they ponced about with bunches of mint and ice grinders.

Green Dragon is best but if the music is too load then the Spreadeagle used to be okay. Not been there for a while but always had a few different beers, and a glass of wine for the ladies - (C) Al Murray - and is a fair size including upstairs.

Could start in the Dragon then move to the Spread Eagle if/when it gets loud. Then onto the Hustler Club obviously.

Looks pretty tight between the Thursday and the Friday. I reckon the least controversial thing would be to put it to a vote at the AGM - nobody could disagree with that. It comes down to whether people would rather work with a hangover or cycle with a hangover.

Damn, my work party/drinks/dinner are Thursday and Friday.
Seasons Greetings to all, especially to those to whom i have been less than pleasant recently - a conciliatory beer is chalked in the ledger for the next Agreeable drinks.
