Hi Dan,

Thanks for showing an interest, and yes there are a few takers already ! I suggest you bring the following ;
• Clothing that allows unrestricted movement. Perhaps a tracksuit or your cycling gear
• Extra clothing to keep you warm before and after the exercises
• 2 Towels or 1 Yoga mat and one towel .
It is also a good idea to make sure you have eaten a meal at least 2 hours before the class, or as a minimum make sure you have a healthy lunch, and then a snack an hour before the class .

I’m off to the club house tomorrow to check out the hall and facilities, and will send an update later this week with a few more details.

Cheers, Matt

Hey Matt - you should find a couple of big bags with mats and blocks in which may be useful - ACC bought them when we had pilates classes. As you go into the hall down on the right is a doorway to the stores. The bags used to be in a big store on the left inside the doorway, hope that makes sense and good luck finding them

Snoop - Much appreciated ...I will have a good look this eve and report back !

Katie - Thanks for showing an interest - Yes the Club house is on Lower Addiscombe Road . I will give your more notice if the day changes , or if there's demand for another session ...but that would more likely be Mondays - more of a recovery day in most peoples diary !

The visit to the Club House was a resounding success! . A quick summary below;

• Club Room has been fully renovated including new kitchen, new toilets , new slightly spongy floor ( ideal for Yoga !)
• The hall where the yoga takes place was warm and well lit
• Car Park available at the front of the Methodist Church ( Church is set back from Lower Addiscombe Road ) No 114, CR0 6AD
• Entrance to Club Room is straight ahead down the right side of the Church
• With the help of Joyce we found the Pilates bag . The blocks will be useful, but unfortunately the mats are not long enough for yoga
• Finally, we also found the completion rollers !
• Plan is for me to arrive at about 8.15 at the Church when the previous booking finishes , and look to start the class just after 8.30 – finishing at 10pm

Second what Carl says.
I'm overweight and inflexible so struggle a bit compared to the others but I have seen small improvements over the 6 weeks. From a relaxation point, it's brilliant and Wednesday nights are my best sleep of the week. Looking forward to level 2.

Thanks for the positive feedback – hopefully this is just the start !

As hinted , the plan is to continue with the progression onto a 5 week Level 2 course @theclubhouse from Weds 29th Feb for 5 weeks.

The course format will be less theory , and more practise , developing breathing techniques to continue to improve effective lung capacity , and remove lactate/CO2 more efficiently. We will also cover the basic postures in more detail to improve the quality and effectiveness of the postures, and I may introduce a few variations to keep everyone on their toes !

The course will not only be suited to those that have completed Level 1 , but also any student who has some experience of Yoga/Pilates

If you think you may wish to attend and have any questions to ask, then please PM

I look forward to seeing you all next Wednesday

Cheers, Matt
