I NEED TOOL !...got your attention?

hi,
i'm in the process of getting everything together to build my new bike (first time i've put one together from scratch, big gulp). i've been tinkering around with bikes for long enough to have amassed most tools i need but i'm looking for a threadless fork cutting guide and also a headset cup press (to help me fit my bb86 bottom bracket). anyone out there have either of these? it'd be great to not have to go out and buy them!!

For the fork steerer tube cutting (assuming it is not a carbon fibre steerer), use a plumber's pipe cutter. I can't help you with the press other than to suggest the DIY store again for a length of M10 threaded bar, two nuts and some 'king big washers to make your own headset/BB press.

thanks alot for your suggestions, grahame. unfortunately (well actually fortunately) it's a carbon steerer. i like your suggestion for the cup press. i've read similar online so i think i'll give it a go..

ha...it'll be summer till i pull this baby out of it's wrapping paper...just getting it all ready...fear not though, my bikes have all always been maintained by me....just never built a new bike from scratch before....was a bit stumped on press fit bb that's for sure...
