[quote="Chris L"]The problem with that poster is that it looks to me like all those cyclists were waiting there at the lights to go straight on and the lorry driver is coming up the outside and turning left (possibly one with defective eyesite or a high blood alcohol level or on his phone etc....add your own option).
A rare occurrence I know, I've never been cut up by a motor vehicle overtaking me and turning left - LIE.
If the lorry does come up alongside riders like that, PROVIDED HE WAS INDICATING his intention to turn left it would be easy for a rider to ride up to his front corner to remind him that there were cyclists there. He must have seen them as he passed them before stopping.
If the vehicle was there first no cyclist would pass down between him and the kerb IF HE WAS INDICATING his intention to turn left.
The answer...... ENFORCE the use of indicators. Lorries (and buses) must be made to have them all down the side of their vehicles.
I get pi**ed off by the number of vehicle drivers that fail to indicate. They should be prosecuted. Grrrr.
