Does anyone know a good 'cheap' building company in the Caterham area?
I need a few large garden walls rebuilding.
Thanks Simon

If you have building sites close to you (with brickies) I would pop in at 10 o'clock tea break and ask if any brickies wants a local private job. You'll probably have to supply the bricks but I suspect that it will be cheaper than going through a builder.

If you're not happy with doing that, then ask either one of the brickies or the site agent/manager for the subcontractor's phone number and go through the subbie. You might find the phone number on the side of a van.

I wouldn't bother going through a building contractor unless there is a specific reason why you should. Plus if the brickies are working on an NHBC warrantied site (which they almost certainly will be) then you know that they will be half decent and reasonably quick. Specially in the present economic climate.
