Good Friday Meeting at Herne Hill

Looking at the rider list Sean Yates is on leave from Discovery again to compete, also Bradley Wiggins in the 10min pursuit (assuming he survived Paris-Roubaix in one piece). And as if that wasn't enough I gather ACC's very own Richard Viney is competing.

I'm going to ride over. Is there an agreeable "club run" going? If so does anyone have a suggested meeting time / venue?

Cheers,
Andrew.

I was going to get the train but if people are riding up then that sounds better. Where do you put your bikes?

I've driven before, but I have been for the last few years and there's always tons of bikes there. They have either been locked to a rack/railing or left next to the owner on the grass behind them as the racks fill up pretty quickly. It's always been a fairly friendly place - full of bikies rather than hoodies.

I suppose it depends how many ACC go. If there's a group of us it should be easy to keep track of them. I might play safe and take a lock anyway.

I'm near Selsdon. Is an East Croydon Station meet any good?

1st event's at 1 so 12 or 12.30 start?

Any preference for a route, I was thinking up to Crystal Palace and down through Dulwich rather than fight through Streatham and Brixton traffic.

Anybody else know a more scenic route (if one exists).

I have a free entry for a 'helper' if anyone wants it.

Pluses - free entry to the event.

Minuses - you'll have to turn up when I do (about 10.00am for some heats).

Qualifications - you have to be capable of holding a bike upright for a start.

Let me know if you want it.

Please post if you are thinking of riding so I know who to wait for.
Thanks.

Folks - I'm trying to convince la famille that is a grrrreat way to spend Good Friday. My 3 year old Daughter has a fine tradition of watching cycling having seen the tour de france, tour of britain, an acc tt and the paths of king nikola road race in montenegro 2 weeks ago (honest!!). Thought she might like some of this velodrome malarkey.

Forgive my ignorance - can you pay on the door or does this event sell out...?

Cheers - Snoop

Yes pay on door I think I'll be selling tickets there at some point.

There are reduced fees for families too :D

But no indoor parking, cars will be directed to nearby sports club parkings.

It's drizzling here in Putney at the moment :(

Hopefully it will dry up... Anyone know how they play it if the track is damp? :|
