MADCC 25

Postby Jon H » Mon May 14, 2012 11:34 am

Over to Essex yesterday morning for the Maldon & District CC 25 on the sporting E21 course.

I've ridden the 10 & 50 versions before, but not the 25. Nice course, all on quiet rolling country lanes near Steeple and Bradwell. Out and back on the 10 course to start, then a loop of the 50 course to finish.

Not sure how they'd seeded the field, but I had a zero on my bum. No way was I a top seed, as demonstrated by the 2 and 5 behind me who caught me, and my lowly 27th place out of 49 finishers.

4 people got under the hour (fastest was a 54) and I grovelled round in 1:06:37.

Never mind, the cakes were nice.

At least George and Lucy had a good weekend  . Was it this event that John Iszatt had his, ahem...unfortunately? He's being very honest about it and not trying to divert blame.

I saw that Joe Perrett had spanked everyone by minutes, be interesting to see how he fairs in the National against Hutch, Botrill etc.
