Steve D and myself entered this event but Steve decided that he was fed up of racing in the rain and declined to ride.
Although I started in light drizzle the obligatory downpour arrived after about 5mins of racing, lasting around 10mins. Thoroughly drenched I seemed to be going ok and was pleased with my time of 25:04 which wasn`t bad on wet and heavy roads. This is the fastest I`ve gone for some time but only one 25 and the Holmwood course to look forward to this season.

Wet again and I decided I could do without the 10 miles - I really need hundreds, but never mind.
The forecast for the weekend looks surprisingly ok and I'm becoming mildly optimistic for the 24. Thanks to those who have wished me well.
