Olympic time trials

I've booked the day off work on August 1st to watch the Olympic time trials.

Planning to either ride or get the train over towards Esher and find a spot by the side of the road to watch it from (preferably a pub or suchlike with coverage on the telly).

Who's coming?

Now that sounds very much like a plan - especially the pub bit.

I'll be over there 'visiting' my parents at Weston Green which is down from Esher station, right on the course on the Hampton Court Way/Weston Green Road turn with access to Hampton Court itself and Portsmouth Road. There are a couple of pubs on the Green and plenty of room to spread out

I've just conferred with the head of the household and she says it's ok for members of the Addiscombe (and probably a few others) to park their bikes in their garden. There's a large plot that used to be my Dad's allotment - strongly suggest you bring locks as it will be at your own risk but it's somewhere out of sight of the public but not far from the pubs...

Probably best to let me know if you want to bring a bike to my parents' and I'll advise you the exact location (though even then people still get it wrong and look on the wrong side of the Green )

Hopefully you'll thank them in person Please be nice to my Dad, he gets a bit crochety these days though, old age Talk to him about the old days and the old bikes, he'll like that.

Talk about old cycling and old bikes, ooh I think I can manage that . Actually I can go one better and bring an old cyclist! My Dad is going to join us but says he'll make his own way there at a gentler pace.

I`d like to make up the numbers if possible. I was planning to ride over. Rode the course albeit in reverse-not the best course in my opinion.
