Sportive cancelled but not the ride!

By now many of you will know that I have cancelled the Sportive. Thanks to those of you who have entered, given or pledged support or were intending to. See the letter I am sending to entrants - We are planning to do a free ride of the excellent 'Lost World' route led by Pete and friends, weather permitting on Saturday 29th September. We hope you might like to join us.

Dear Entrant

Addiscombe Lost World Sportive, 16/09/12 Cancellation

It is with regret that I have cancelled this event. There are insufficient entrants to organise the type and quality of event that would be enjoyable and of which we could be proud. I will therefore arrange for reimbursement of your entry fee and you should see it appear in your account within a few days. Thank you for your willingness to participate and I am sorry for the disappointment.

However, by way of compensation I am inviting you to a 'free to participate' ride of the route. Weather permitting this will be organised as a a normal Addiscombe Cycle Club run from 9.am Saturday 29 September. We meet at Coulsdon South railway station. We will ride in a group or groups and there will be maps available for riders who wish to turn up participate independently. There will be one cafe stop around half way. There is also a Garmin file which I can send to you.

Kindly let me know if you are planning to join us for this ride. Please note you will be riding as independent cyclists and unless you are a member of the club are not covered by any insurances held by Addiscombe Cycle Club.
