Club Kit

There are quite a few people who wear a club SS top in the summer. I appreciate that winter is more of a challenge as people wear different combinations of kit to keep warm and dry, Karen and I included.

Therefore, and agreeing with Matt W, we should support our club and at least wear a SS club shirt when the weather allows. Personally, I think this looks impressive and has drawn positive responses from other groups of cyclists, people sat in pub gardens etc etc when the Addiscombe peloton has gone past.

Also, we were out riding on Sunday and we stopped for a coffee. There were some Redhill riders in club shirts in the cafe who then covered them up with non Redhill clothing when they left.

Personally I think the quality of the Santini jersey is very good. Infact it's my most expensive jersey! Maybe I'm just cheap

I have one bike that matches the kit and I acquired that before I joined Addiscombe - shame it's the winter hack with a rack on the back or I'd be more inclined to bring it on club runs. Even though the colours don't really match any of my better two road bikes, I really like the design. I always wear it on the main CR but tend to wear other ones on the Sunday rides. It looks good when everybody is in matching kit, I must admit. On the ride back from the cafe on the Lost Worlds ride, I think there were 7 or 8 matching new style jerseys, in the group of 8 riders

I'm not convinced that looking more uniformed gets more respect from other road users though. Muppets who give close passes would do the same if you were all wearing matching gear or not, imho.

Don't know what people do to their kit. I've never had any problems with quality on any Santini kit, club or other, and have found it a better fit and more comfortable than more expensive stuff.

I saw some ACC shorts, in the wild Today. They were wrapped around the legs of a cyclist going past Tooting Bec tube stn about 4:30. Never seen any outside of club rides... until now!
