SL Milland Hill - 2/3 - 30th March '13

Postby Keith » Sat Mar 30, 2013 8:59 pm

I've not raced the Milland Hill circuit before. Having raced it this afternoon, I'm not convinced I'll do so again in a hurry. It's got a section of 25%. We had the pleasure of going up it 9 times. To make finish line judging easier, they thoughtfully put the chequered flag a short distance from the top of the hill.

Long story short - I spent most of the afternoon in a couple of breaks. As I was grovelling up the aforementioned hill for the last time, I was passed by the first 3 riders of the advancing bunch to come in 8th.

One small bonus; 8th place means I should have retained my 2nd cat licence for next season. By then I may have forgotten how unpleasant that hill is and enter the race again. :-)

It sounds like you guys worked well in the break. Young Phillip Peters isn't strong if I remember and I see Dr "Iron" Mike Debney is still kicking Butt. I remember him winning back in 2004. A quick scan of the AM Cat 3 race and there's some old vet sand bagging in 8th spot
A few reports here Keith.
