If you want to keep up to date with my new team, Catford CC have a newsletter they email out weekly. There's quite a few team updates and I have already been mentioned in two issues.

If you're interested click the link below and subscribe:

A quick update to what's been happening:

Recently I have received a 'temporary' Condor Leggero (pics below) from Jeff Banks while I get fitted for a team bike! It's a big step up from my aluminium Merida!! :D
Today I picked up the team kit ready to race in when I reach enough points to race as a junior. Pics to follow!

I'll continue to update,
Matt

I have been able to get enough points to race as a 3rd cat due to a number of wins at Preston Park so today took the plunge and raced in a 3rd cat race. Here's a quick report.

There were a few attacks early on, but none of them got away. I decided to attack and got away quite quickly, they reeled me in though. About a lap after I attacked again... and got reeled in again.
I decided to recover from the efforts and five minutes later there was another attack that went away. We let him go, but they stayed away so I attacked again, this time making sure I had the tail wind behind me so I could go after him.
When I caught him I went straight passed and managed stay away for 10 minutes before they caught back up.
5 laps to go and I tried to have a gel, but as soon as I opened it up they sprinted off letting me only take a mouthful!
On the last lap I got behind the guy in front and didn't move. Someone tried to come round the inside so I sprinted off on the outside getting away quickly, taking the win for Catford CC Equipe/Banks by about 5 bike lengths!!
Distance - 19 miles
Time - 46 mins
Avg speed - 24.2

It would be nice to get some Addiscombe peeps to race against so here is the link to a race next Sunday! I might try out the 2/3 race!! - https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/94140/The-Apr%C3%A8s-Autumn-Last-Blast-1#entry

Great stuff Matt, good to see you doing well and continuing to progress. Being under a proper training and racing structure for juniors will do you good.
Nice to see you heading down the road this morning too.

Good race, Matt! You can't beat a Condor frame - I've had one since the 1960s!

Catford Hill climb yesterday.
I arrived 15 minutes before the start due to closed roads so no time for warm up. Only just got my numbers on!!
As you can see from the pic it was hard!

Matthew Webber Catford Cycling Club Equipe/Banks 2.25.6
A good effort from Tom:)

Yes, top gurning and a great time. A truely hideous climb, that second ramp just kills your legs.

Great time Matt. You beat one Yates. Sorry we couldn't hang around but we were freezing.

Tom doesn't look totally happy at the start:
