Club Circuit Race - 22nd September

Just a reminder. Date for the diary, Club Members Road Race - 22nd September (am). Venue Cyclopark - The Tollgate, Wrotham Road, Gravesend, Kent DA11 7NP

More details, will follow. However there will be more than one race, as one of the aim's is to encourage beginners to take part and to accommodate the different levels.

Most importantly, there's time to train and to encourage fellow members to take part, especially if you think you can beat them.

As we have the circuit booked for so long, would there be any chance that those with kids could bring them along and allow them to ride the circuit for an hour before we take to the circuit or would that impact insurance etc.

General outline of the plan. Is to allow the circuit to be ridden from 9am for probably about 45mins. Whilst people sign on. Then kick off some races. It’s a 1.6 mile circuit. Everything is a function of how many people attend. So post up, if you think you will be there and we can categorise accordingly.  We will have to charge an entry fee to cover costs. It will be in the £5 to £10 region. I’ll confirm this. Once I have a rough idea of numbers.  

Marek, it’s more than likely that there will be time after the races.  But I’d have to find out about the insurance.  The event itself is registered through the BCF, Risk Assessment has been completed and they have issued the necessary race permit.

Had to change the date back in March. As circuit was double booked. Haven't changed anything since then. FWIW use the Presidents 10 as a warm up the day before.
Could you do a mass email out for us ?
Does anyone use facebook, re have an addiscombe list to help promote etc.

Hey Ben, well done on volunteering to put this years ACC Club Race together. If I can help in any way let me know. One tip from my experience is get as many people on the day (friends etc) to help out. With Paul Tunnel at your side you've got all the expertise you need. Thanks Toks. You won't be surprised, in that the plan’s, will be similar, to what you have done/promoted in the past for this event.
I'm definitely not going to turn down offers of help. At this moment in time, help spreading the word, would be appreciated.

Jo, the simple aim, is to encourage people to start racing. As the saying goes you have to start somewhere. Many of those who posted on Toks thread, back in 2011, raced for the first time in that club event. Many of them then went onto to race in club colours in open events.
