Club for a Junior?? Help!

Postby Jon C C on a Bianchi » Wed Jan 29, 2014 10:08 pm

Hi All

Can anyone out there recommend a cycling club for an 11 year old based in Caterham? He's a dead keen, strong rider. I thought of Redhill Raiders. I ask becasue we were contacted by his mum and I had to turn them away because of his age. It would be nice to point him in the right direction.

Thanks

Jon

Redhill Raiders are in Merstham (most Sundays) so pretty close. They also do occasional supervised road rides for older, more confident riders and quite often have a training session at Cyclopark.

Sutton is good if he wants to get into racing. I have a contact there too but the info is at home.

Thanks, Amy and Phil

I heard somewhere that Sutton weren't taking on new members. Does anyone know the situation.

Their website does say they have a waiting list. Clearly the kids cycling thing is really taking off.

Yeah, but arts graduate ... computer ...

Other options would probably only be VCL or Herne Hill both of whom put out a strong youth showing at Palace. Redhill sounds like the best bet at the moment.
