SERRL Summer Series #1, Lamberhurt / Frant - E/1/2/3 - 9th March '14

In at the deep end with 6 x 20km laps of the rolling Lamberhurst / Frant circuit.

The first 50km were pretty full-on.
Missed both of the 2 breaks
The bunch then had a chat for a lap or so, which was nice. Adam Cotterell (ex-ACC) was back racing in Wyndymilla colours :D

10km from the finish, my chain got caught between chainstay and little ring. Had to stop and force it out, so rolled in behind the main bunch.

Surrey League Bayeux Anniversary Race Series #1 - 2/3 - Saturday 15th March '14

First of a 3 race series, with the top 20 on points going on to a road bike TT.

Addiscombe's team doubled in numbers as I joined David Kennett.

I like the Barcombe circuit with its long draggy hills & fast descents. Only they chose to run the circuit in reverse, so it was now dominated by 2 steep climbs.

Tried to create an early break. One other significant break looked like it might stick, but was chased down (a regular occurrence it seems in 2/3 races). Wasn't part of the break that stayed away. 3 others went clear with a couple of laps to go. I crept away on the last lap, being joined by a few others. We managed to stay clear of the main bunch. 14th.

The event was won by Mike Coyle who bridged a 1 minute gap to the lead break before going on to win.

Good to hear about the early races Keith. Mr. K back racing for Addiscombe this year, hopefully you'll both be able to work well together in races this season, you were left on your tod a bit last year Keith. I see testers Pete Morris and Steve Kane were up there, well Steve is a very good young man who was doing a lot of most type of racing last year. Very good rider.
