Myself and Robert R-E down for this on the G25/54. I thought it was windy last week but it was just as windy and cold. The wind had changed direction and was now headwind on the way out and tail on the way back which you did twice.
Could tell the minute I started that it was slower than last week as it was straight into the wind. It was a struggle and at some points I was down to below 20mph on sections last week that I would say was 3 to 4 mph faster. It did make the return leg fast and the first time round I was on mainly 53 X 15 and 14.
The second lap my legs felt surprisingly good and I thought I was stuggling but I was still catching people who has started 10 minutes in front of me. In the end though no amount of bashing along back towards the finish at 30mph + was going to make up lost time and I finished with a 1.01.12, just over a minute slower than last week.
Really struggled to get my helmet undone because my hands were so cold and had to ask Robert to help me remove my number.
Robert finished with a 1.09.12 on his training bike but did have saddle issues. He is still waiting for delivery of his new TT machine after he had to stop using his old one due to a crack in the farme
Pete Tadros won (just) in 53.49 on fixed!!
Nice to catch up with a few people I had not seen for a while. Back on the course next week, hopefully a bit calmer.
