Sporting 25 promoted by Maldon and District CC on the E21/25A course.

An interesting course starting and finishing in the village of Steeple; first of all an out-and-back to Bradwell, then a loop round the lanes through Mayland and Tillingham and back to Steeple. Mostly rolling, some fun twists and turns, and one nasty short steep climb which doesn't look like much as you approach it but wipes off all your speed.

A nice dry sunny day, if a bit breezy in some places, meaning there was some flyingly fast sections and some draggy sections. Felt I paced it OK and knocked about a minute of my course PB to finish in 1:05:35 putting me about halfway down the results table.

Ex-ACC Carl Ferri did a stonking ride for 4th place in 58:01, one of only 7 to go under the hour.
