Not selected for any races...but not suspended. Well what is it then?
Agree Toks re Landis, looks like he could be on for a good one with his form this year. Podium place?

I believe CSC have been based in Italy - Riis has strong ties down there, speaks fluent Italian.

Floyd used to have ties to Ferrari. Basso to Cecchini. Did Tyler have contact with Fuentes? I haven't checked to see if TH has made any statements on his site regarding the current debacle.

Phonak must have heard something to tie those two to a bag of blood.

I want Floyd for the podium. I still think he can get there with a weaker team, provided he gets a little shelter here and there. And if he gets angry, watch out. He's got a little of Pantani's temperament.

What about Leipheimer? It's been very quiet at Gerolsteiner.

Interesting that Riis says he's put Basso on an Armstrong training regime, but they're really anti-Armstrong in terms of Ullrich in the media. Armstrong and Bruyneel buttered him up, Riis is really slamming him.

And furthermore ... why is the British press treating Bradley Wiggins like the Second Coming? Why does he talk himself up so much? A pursuit is not a Prologue. He gets humiliated time and again, like in the Dauphine prologue yesterday. I think he should just shut up and ride. So he's English - big deal. When he wins something off the track, THEN it's time to talk.

Sorry, I haven't talked cycling to anyone in months. Excuse my logorrhea!

Yeah hopefully Floyd can show us what he'd got this year. I think its between him and Basso. Last yeah Lance seem to have some kind of psychological hold on Landis and he failed to show his true potential.[quote]What about Leipheimer? It's been very quiet at Gerolsteiner.
Naaah Lance's body double just ain't got it. Top 10 and that'll be it for L.L. [quote]And furthermore ... why is the British press treating Bradley Wiggins like the Second Coming? You're right Dan, its all getting a tad embarrassing. B.W. just needs to get on with it. Its nice to tell people what your goals are but its probably better not big ya self up to the point where you've almost got to guaranted success.

By the way does anyone fancy Vino? I'm not sure what he's been up to but he's got to be considered as well. His TDF win last year on the Champs' was absolutely inspirational

Only accident or injury can deny Basso.

I reckon the mountains will lead to some top class action.

Wiggins was 4 seconds slower than Valverde who admits he can't time trial to save his life. That doesn't bode well for the Tour prologue.

I think der Kaiser will be there or there abouts with so few mountain top finishes, and 2 long flat TTs. The mountains start late as well so Jan should be up to speed by then.

I'd love him to win, great to watch his constant attacking. Not sure if he will though as he seems to be too much of a jack of all trades. Not as good as Ullrich in the TT, not as good as Basso in the mountains.

"Not as good as Ullrich in the TT, not as good as Basso in the mountains".

Ah, but if Vino's better than Basso in the TT and better than Ullrich in the mountains he could get a podium spot. I think he's a bit too impulsive and impatient. And what sort of team will he have, if any?

Bradley Wiggins could come good for the Prologue (2007?) but I agree with the 'talking himself up' argument. This is similar to the British (sic) press talking up England's chances of winning the World Cup.

On Giro form, it's Basso's to lose, but Floyd and Jan could shake him up. Even Popyvich maybe.

I hope Basso wins it, if only so we get some more pictures of his sister

If anyone's been quieter than Leipheimer, it's Popo.

I like Vino. But he'll need to string good days with a great day or two in the mountains and hold on in the TTs - without a bad day like last year's post-rest day debacle. His Classics campaign was very quiet.

On current form: Basso, Landis, Ullrich. But the Dauphine/Tour de Suisse could definitely tell us something ...

Look for Millar to try to take a stage - I don't think the Tour gods will allow that.
