Reflecting on this now a week later I would definitely do again one of those long, hilly, mass-start rides. It was great to be able to jump from group to group and just ride all day long on such varied terrain. Parts of it reminded me of the French Alps. I was pleased with the result, had no real idea of where I stood, as we started late I only came across four people in the last 25km hilly section. When I got to the "Super" junction I was thinking that maybe I'd kept in too much energy in anticipation for the dreaded last two hills - which weren't all that bad, but seeing how my legs felt quite weak a short while after, perhaps it was for the best. Real shame about Marek and Huw not being able to complete the course. I see now they have rectified the results, doh could've come 3rd if it hadn't been for the 10-min break :-) I wonder where those fast riders we came across went, maybe just a couple of them went for the Super in that super-fast time and the others did the Fondo.

The infamous Blwch y Groes climb, but worst climb for me was the next one on Hirant Pass, there was no way I could take any photos on that one.

Don't know what's happened there. I can't see them from my work computer either. I'll try and sort it out from home.
