Well done Tim, looks like your going up to 2nd cat. I know you've worked hard over the last couple of years so I'am glad to see it's all paid off for you.

Aye, second place and almost first! (another few meters to the finish line and you'd have got it I think). I was dead after lap 24 and finally pulled out as I'd no feul left in the legs and every time I came to the hill I was left crawling up it. I was fine until then and keeping with the small bunch but suddenly it all went! I don't know where you get the energy to sprint for the finish especially given the wind last night.

Well done Tim. Good result over at Hillingdon last night too but I'll let the main man break the news.

thanks to all for the comments

what a great race! best of the season so far..

Started off with about 40 riders which was a surprise cos the footie was on. 40 laps went up on the board. owch as its only noramlly 30!! on the first lap a guy who i had not seen before decided to go for a break. He looked strong? i looked around and no one chased him so i joined him. for the first time this season i wasn't chased down. We managed to get a gap of about 50m then 100m. Then 4 other riders joined us.

I was convinced that the bunch would pull us back in straight away but they didn't. I was talking to the group to make sure we were working togther making sure people didn't fly off in front. before i knew it we had 300m. Everyone was doing their fair share and eventually a Dulwich rider fell off the back.

my legs were screaming for the first 15 laps but then i got a second wind and i felt really good. felt like i was bouncing up the hill for about 5 laps!

with 10 laps to go we lapped the entire field and rode straight past!! not first time i have seen that at Palace in a 3rd and 4th race.

3 to go and the pace was controlled. then the bell and we all started looking at each other.. half way up the hill the guy who started the break went for it.. Daniel from Persons jumped on his wheel and then me on his. a the top of the hill Dan went past and i was in perfect position. i made my move and dipped for the line. I thought i had it but it went to Pearsons. i think they tend to favour the lead out rider at Palace.. but it was mm.... should have made my move earlier.. but there you go. i am still learning every race

So 8 points for 2nd and off i go to 2nd Cats. My aim was to get 2nd Cat by end of the season so I am well chuffed to get it so early on!.. will let you know about the pain next week in the E1/2s

Well done Tim, that sounded like excellent fun, lapping the field must have been pretty cool.

Cheers
