No he did not take any illegal substances.

Neither did Miguel Indurain.

Two great champions of the past. Now lets look forward to this years tour and the new stars.......

Actually Lance has, by his own admission, used EPO. He has stated that it was part of his treatment for cancer. This was known about and sanctioned by the UCI.

The question is whether he continued to use this "medecine" after it was clinically required.

Lance has not helped himself with his relationship with Dr Ferrari and others. He also appears to have turned a blind eye to some close colleagues and friends who later turned out to not be clean (Miller and Hamilton for starters). I'm not convinced he was clean.

Wow...that seems like pretty damning evidence from Frankie and Betsy Andreu and also the taped LeMond conversation.
I really don't know who to believe here.
I've seen Armstrong interviewed on the drugs allegations and to me he seemed totally genuine. But there seems so much evidence to the contrary.....

Then again,I was convinced Tyler was innocent....so who knows.

You have to say that the circumstantial evidence against Lance is building.
You really have to ask why?
I mean, did this happen to Indurain, Hinault et al in the TDF, or Boonen in the classics?
There are too many unanswered questions about Lance.

I don't think we'll ever get to the bottom of this.
Even if they found out in 3 years time that Lance was on some new form of EPO that they had only recently made a reliable test for , it would be almost impossible to indict him for it. His samples from the last however many years would be tested. But those tests would be questioned, as they were in the recent 1999 tour case. Who could prove the chain of custody for these samples? Who could prove that they were not tampered with?

Maybe Lance knows this and that's why he knows that all the spin offs from his TDF wins, the charities, the business interests, the insurance claims etc are all safe because there can be no case proven against him

You seem to be assuming,as a premise for your argument, that Armstrong is/was clean.
Just becasue Ullrich,Basso et al, may have doped, doesn't neccassarily make Armstrong even more amazing in my book. It just makes it more likely that Armstrong doped as well.

Surely this Spanish doping fiasco unerlines what all serious cycling fans knew all along. Namely that all riders dope.

Think marco means amazing considering they were on equal grounds (ie both doped).
