Today started out well, went with the 18s and feeling good. Sort of went downhill after about 10 miles when I hit a sharp stone and punctured. The rest of the group was kind enough to stop and wait while I fixed it which was going fine up until I reinflated the tyre. Not wanting to hold everyone up for too long I thought I'd try my CO2 inflator rather than the mini pump, but being a bit ham-fisted I over inflated it bit. Tried to let out a bit of air and it went bang splitting the tyre!:(
I thanked and waved off the rest, and phoned for the broomwagon. Managed to fit a bit of cardboard in the tyre as a boot, repair the original puncture and slowly rolled back to meet my lift coming the other way.
All in a bit of a pain as the sun was starting to come out and would have made for a good ride.
Hope everyone else got round in one piece and thanks again for waiting.
Andrew.
