Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Looks like this Tuesday is going to be even better than 2003, when we had the most agreeables racing at Hillingdon. Its going to be Huge.

I caught up with a few riders on the CR on Sat and found out a bit more about the line up!

1. Simon (24 years old), first race tomorrow. Bike: Specialised Tarmac. Training Programme Chris C. 'Armstrong Prog'. 4 x week including indoor trainer. V02 187.
2. Polish Andrew. Usually seen on a MTB. Very very fast. First race for ACC !
3. Mathew Ives (last seen tearing up Box Hill), best place at Hillingdon, no 4, last week
4. Sylvain (UK single speed champ) . Best place at Hillingdon no 2, two weeks ago
5. The Shadow. Best place no 1 last week
6. Mathew Day, highly ranked at Hillingdon and looking on form
7. George Brent, strong man ex enduro rider with racks and downshifters on his bike, was in 10 lap breakaway last week. Fearless.
8. Yours truly, best place no 5 in 2003. Prize for most Hillingdon caps!

If you ever wanted to have a go at racing tomorrow is your day as the team will look out for you!

Meeting at Victoria at 5.50 pm outside the train station by the taxi ranks for those riding down

Plus Ray said he's gonna ride this week.
Ray, a super strong lightweight rouleur who could easily cause a suprise in the last 3rd of the race.

Ajay: I'm proably going to make my own way there since I'm working over @ Wandsworth this Tuesday.

See you guys Tuesday!!

Keep breathing guys, but I'm going to try to make it. I assume I can race at Hillingdon on a day licence? Also, I sort of fancy my chances as a sprinter, so I have a plan which runs along the lines of "Get me to the last corner in the top 1/3 of the group, and watch my legs explode in a mass of cramp"

Don't worry, Grahame. If you need any tips on how to achieve this result, just follow me around. I seem to have perfected it :D

Hi , A perfect evening to put all those hours of watching the Tour de France into practice ! . I'll be leaving Spitafields market in the City at 5.45 if anyone wants to join me(0771 782 809)

Stategy deployed at Hillindon so far this year

Week 1 - First Cat 4 Race , hang on for dear life , dont hit anyone , stayed upright , finished in pack

week 2 . These tyres are really sticky even in the wet , learnt not to break , legs less painful , top third on final bend , 9th place

Week 3 . Followed winner of last weeks event , noticed his line of attack, he raced out of saddle at the same 3 inclines each lap, overtook 20 people on the outside on lap 4 , another 10 on the back straight during the last lap , but he didnt have the legs oafter the final bend -typical , finished out of the placings ( but i over took my coach ! )

Week 4 . Agreed deal with Andy C for him to act as my lead out man , he renaged , i came 8th , andy came 2nd !!

Week 5 . Tried a numer of lone breaks with fellow Addsicombers Ben Jones, and Ajay . Sprint taken out of legs, but managed 8th place

Not too sure of tactics this week, I may be going for a 3.5 laps breakaway to try out my the newly Marmottified (?!) legs if anyone cares to join me ?!

See you all there

What a race! Raced in the E123 and it was so much faster than last week, managed to get away twice but without success, at one point stayed away for two laps and joined a break with a few strong riders from the same club, which seemed like a good tactic, but we were somehow caught just after the 4ths finished. for much of the race we were hovering around the 30mph mark with the bunch snaking from side to side along the track. There were a couple of Beligum riders there who seemed really strong, it wil be interesting to see how they faired when the results are posted. Felt better tonight despite the pace. Roll on next Tuesday!!!
