Marco, thanks acting as our guide. A very enjoyable ride - I must confess I have only ridden about 100 yards of it before now.

Ditto here Marco, thanks for the expert guiding.

Given that you were singlespeeding, not being able to ride that 1 in 3 is hardly shameful!

Thanks Phil, too, for loaning me a spare tube after I blew mine out whilst attempting to inflate the tyre without first booting the half inch gash in the sidewall. I might have to invest in some tougher tyres for the Croydon trails...

Hopefully the Sunday MTB rides will once again become a regular fixture.

BTW it's Mike, not Mark.

O-R club run this Sunday 30/7 ?

Postby higg » Tue Jul 25, 2006 1:03 pm

For starters, is anybody interested in another O-R club run this Sunday 30/7.

Also, I was toying with the idea of doing one every Sunday for the month of August, with the emphasis on just getting out on the trails for a couple of hours while the weathers good. (ie) not a training ride. Are there enough takers ?

I'd be up for regular offroad rides during August and beyond, as long as the weather holds (yes, I'm a fair weather cyclist!).

Can't do this weekend though, 'coz I'm planning to do the Test Valley Tour Hot MTB challenge http://www.testvalleytour.com/hot_mtb.htm

If anyone's thinking of doing this event I can highly recommend it, having done it last year. This year's event promises to be even better with an extended 80km route and two chances to ride the sublime forest singletrack section.

OK. Let's do it then. Is 10am at ECBR still the time to go ? How do things get into the digest ?

A peek thru the curtains on Sunday morning might change your mind...

I'll try to be there, recovery from cold pending.

Singlespeeds or heavy, complicated bikes?

aggressive walking (too much testosterone  )? Or gentle strolling looking at the view?

If the second, then I'll join you.

Come to think of it I haven't been on am off-road run in the rain for ages so hope to be there regardless. Mind you I might be on a touring bike with mudguards.
