Yep its definitely on Gavin!. I'm gonna see if I can get some goodies from G butlers as prizes. If not I'll be asking you lot to look amongst you various cycling bits and bobs for things you could donate as prizes. I'm also gonna need a few extra hand on the day to help out. I

ts still three months away so I don't wanna give it over exposure. I'll talk to Marco as well to see if we could design a king of web flyer for the event... Good luck in the Marmotte Gavin. When you return you need to join the fast boys on a saturday which will good training for the road race .

Nice work Toks.

Put me down in the elite A cat group please.
Looks like I'll be the only one in this group based on this thread, so should be a clean sweep on the prizes !

:D

I'm keen to have a go at this.

I've never done any road racing before apart from a few 10 mile TTs and to be honest I find the idea of riding in a bunch a bit scary. I might take Toks's advice and have a go at one of the novice races in the preceding weeks.

That said, my pace should be good enough for the B group.

Looking forward to it!

Toks, interested in the ACC road race (definite C group) and will try to get to a Novice race before.

Being a complete racing novice and therefore ignorant, do I need a licence for the ACC event or to race in one of the novice events?

How long before the start do I need to get there for sign in etc?

Thanks for the help,

Andrew.

Another complete newbie writes: what's the deal with licences? If a race says "novice" can you compete without a licence?

Yes indeed Forbes! No licence is needed. Just turn up, pay entry fee, put on your race numbers and you're ready to roll
