Hillingdon Tuesday Night?

Hillingdon Tuesday Night?

Postby -Adam- » Mon Aug 07, 2006 8:48 am

Just wondered whose going to be over at hillingdon on tueday evening?

I'll definately be there, hungry for a win, or at least 3rd place anyway. That would be enough to secure promotion to 3rd cat status!

See you tomorow...

Race is supposed to start at 7.01pm (right after the E/1/2/3 race which kicks off at 7.00pm)

But hasn't started until about 7.20 the last couple of weeks. But probably best to be there by around 6.30-6.45 to allow plenty of time to sign on etc.

Mr Broomfield said he was coming on sat, mr ives is now a 3rd cat, and dont know about ajay!

Ok I'll kick off the race reviews for tues eve at Hillingdon...

Yor too right Ajay, it was time to actually do a bit of work for ACC, been taking it far too easy lately, enjoyed ma summer a bit too much :)

...enjoyed tonights race tremendously...in attendance was Steve Broomfield, Ray pepe, Adam, his friend and myself.

Started off at the back, decided just to sit in and get a feel for the track, the S-bends took some getting used too (1st time on this track), as we rode very hard round them, an i had images of my wheel giving way an taking about 10 with me....the key word for tonight was CONGESTION....jus seemed to be riders everywhere (40 I think), I bumped shoulders on several occasions as there jus didnt seem to be enough space.

ok back to the race...the pace was easy to start as everyone felt the others out, then it picked up around the 3rd lap, on the 4th a guy jumped off the front on a solo mission......never to be seen again...he won outright. There was a few attempts to pull him back, a gallant effort by Steve shadow broke his lead down to just 5secs, but without help it jus couldn't be bridged. I think this huge effort from steve took a little out of him, as the last lap proved decisive in the placements.

When the staff called 3 laps i realised i was too far back in the pack to have impact and decided to move up, this was no mean feat as the openings for this occured on tha back straight which had a savage wind, and forced everyone to tuck in....not too bad I was in about 15th approaching the last lap.

Really laid it down in the last lap moving up 1 or 2, it was very diffcult as some riders didnt hold thier line and almost forced me onto the grass verge....the final bend an i was out the saddle, the final 300 mtrs seemed to last forever but i managed to take at least 7-8 riders on the sprint to get a 7th place finish, my first points of the season..an i'm delighted!

There was a little query on placements, as one judge counted me at 7th, the other as 9th, I know there was only 5 ahead of me in the bunch sprint with the winner on his solo breakaway, be interesting to see the final placements. Adam fininshed 4th, an is now officially a 3rd Cat, well done sir! Unsure of the others placements, will check online 2moro

..Hope your still awake...looking forward to hearing the guys reviews.

cheers

Nice one Yohan!!!!
Good to hear you made it out for the final tues evening Hillingdon of the season.
Damn good result too, considering you're a bit ring rusty, shall we say.
Takes a couple of races to get used to the circuit and how the race pans out.

Well done to all ACC-ers!!

Another bloddy breakaway!

Fairplay to the bloke though, to go from the 4th lap and hold off the bunch is quite impressive. It was a real case of out of sight out of mind! Still, didn't feel so bad today as i was third in the bunch sprint instead of 1st like last week. And given it was enough points to secure my promotion, i was happy. I used too much energy chasing a little break by somone on the back straight on the final lap. Was at 97% of my heart rate coming into the final corner, believe me, my legs have never burned so much as my mind became set on getting the points i needed!

Worked harder this week, averaged 175bpm heart rate, and had 204bpm in the finale, almost my max (205).

Still, im a 3rd cat now, so whats it like Matt, Toks etc!!!???
