She's obviously wearing a new helmet and doesn't want to get it scratched

I think you're probably right Andrew but it just shows how good helmets are if a rider thinks her fingers will offer better protection

I went to a wicked party near Crystal Palace on Saturday and got somewhat (ie totally) mashed - too much juice and all that. At some point in the evening I escorted a couple of ladeez back to their car. On my return to the action I bounded up the garden path with my hands firmly wedged in pockets. Didn't see the step, took a flyer and went down hard on left elbow and both knees!

Fortunately I was a) not seen doing this and b) in a suitably merry state that it didn't really start to hurt until the next day. Needless to say that I didn't make things any better by bouncing around and somersaulting on a huge outdoor trampoline with some most excellent company from between the hours of 1 and 3 am and then dancing for a couple more hours after. :D 8)

Guys, I think you have missed the point, my experience tells me that she just does not want to get her hair wet, look at that spray of water lifting off into the air, what would that do to her hair? Think of the trauma of having to take off your helmet with frizzy, wet bedraggled hair.

Cheers

Will try this on the next cafe sprint as it looks like the rider on the front is going to stay upright!
We must not allow the clock and the calendar to blind us to the fact that each moment of life is a miracle and mystery.
