A TT on 16/9/06?

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

A TT on 16/9/06?

On my last club run Tim mentioned that there was a TT on 16th September. Does anyone have the details of this event? Also I have a minor concern that I will cope ok, as this will be my first TT and I have a couple of lean training weeks prior to this due to a holiday.

"President's 10" 10 mile TT on the Holmwood course, Saturday 16th Sept at 10am. Email Tim Coales if you want to ride.

Don't be concerned about whether you will cope. It's only 10 miles, and everyone has to start somewhere. Anyway, as it's your first TT you will be given a generous handicap and therefore be in with a good chance of winning the trophy.

I've emailed Tim Coales. I'm not a member of ACC technically, but have been out on several CRs, and more importantly, the membership form is filled out and a cheque is ready, so should be by the time I go up to uni next month 8)

Could I ride the Presidents 10 if I just turn up and pay a few pounds? Breaking 30 mins is my aim so I won't trouble any of the frontrunners.

What is the profile of the course? Mainly flat?

The President's 10 is classed as a "Come and try it" event, which means that you don't actually need to be a club member, so you can have a ride but as a non-member will not be eligible for any prizes.

The course is a dual carriageway and a bit rolling, but if you're reasonably strong it's big chainring all the way round.

Ok, reccied the course - cycle computer broke but measured it from Spooks Hill exit to chequered flag sign and it was 30'30... so 30 mins is a realistic target.

Any more info on this? So I can "just" turn up at 10am and ride?
