Definitely - she was riding like a train at Palace today, one of only two ACC riders along with Tim Harris. 8)

Thanks folks - it was hard work at the Hillingdon race but I just managed to get into the points.

Crystal Palace was no easier either - no time to relax at all, and always having to accelerate out of corners or power up hills - a complete menace of a course, but great fun !!

On a separate note, it is true - I have changed clubs, and will now be riding for Pearson Cycles where I hope to build on my road racing skills and ride with other women road racers.

I enjoyed the 5 years I was with Addiscombe, but recently felt the need to get a new wind in my sails.
Anyway, I'll still be in touch with a few of the members, and hope to see the rest of you around the SE cycling circuit. Also, if I'm going abroad cycling, whether it's for a pootle or to do a mass participation event I'll let you know in case anyone wants to have a go.
(Actually, just remembered I'm doing something in Liguria, Italy at the end of September if anyone's interested !)

All the Best with your bike riding guys and girls and Bye for Now,

Maria

I also wanted to say thanks to everyone who helped out at the events I co-ordinated, the successes of which were down to all of you who were involved.

I am quite happy to give information/tips to the next women's co-ordinator or "25" promoter.

Cheers,

Maria

Hey Maria I'm sad that you've decided move on. I've always respected your on the bike and off the bike work at this club. You certainly impressed me with your various cycling challenges over the last few years. In my opinion we're probably guilty of taking our female club members a little bit for granted at this club. On numerous occassions you've sent in posts about Cyclosportivs and Races which appeared to have been largely ignored. I wonder if this has infuenced your decision to leave the club. Wishing you all the best, Toks

Thanks for note Toks.

Maybe the point you made could be something to debate........ with Tamar
now being the only 1st claim female member regularly doing cycling events for ACC maybe the debate should take place sooner rather than later.
