I'm not sure how well suited it would be to beginners.

They hold lots of downhill races there (one happened today I think), and they've built some pretty tough courses.

That said, I've heard that they've been doing a lot of work there lately, and are even putting in a road circuit, so maybe they're broadening its appeal.

Here's their site:

Another place to consider with marked off-road trails, and likely to be much more family friendly, is Bedgebury. Although it is a fair but further, being over near Bewl Reservoir.

Here's the Bedgebury site:

Kieran, we have held the last three (or was it four) Addiscombe Cyclocross races at PORC and potentially will hold the next one there.

It is mostly aimed with downhillers in mind with big run off ramps and pre set jumps etc but there is a fair amount of cross country about but limited in depth. Costs about £4.

Depending on the age of the kids, Bedgebury (£5) or Bracknell forest (J2 M3 and free) are better as they are more extensive and have better facilities with a lot of single track and fire tracks to explore of varying skill levels.

Yes, Bracknell's a good suggestion too.

I think you're supposed to pay at Bracknell, by going into the visitors centre and buying a day permit

Although I'm not sure many people know that... :)

True I think that you have to but I have never done so in 13 years of riding there (what a rebel)
