Club Track Championship

Postby richv » Thu Sep 21, 2006 9:29 am

The Club Track Championships will be held on Sunday 1st October 2006 (2pm -5pm) at Herne Hill. Cost £5.

Events will include the club sprint championship (men and women) and the club scratch championship. There will probably also be at least one other event depending upon numbers.

This is a low key friendly event and is an ideal way to try racing on the track. Numbers are not generally large so no scary bunches to worry about.

The only experience required is that you have attended the Saturday morning track induction (or equivalent).

Any queries post here or contact me.

oh, this clashes with the Ride of the Falling Leaves, emm, I had hoped to do both but not on the same day! Might be possible but would not be in an real shape for the track. Starting ROFL at 9am give 5 hours (average 14mph but say 1/2 hour to rest and prepare means doing the ROFLs at 15.5mph) for the long course before the track champs. I'll have to think about this, haven't done much track this year so would like to do that, also less time away from the family then.

Same here, have registered for the falling leaves and will probably do that as it looks to be the first really testing sportive I've done, although I did a few novice track mornings last year and really enjoyed it. Will be back in time to watch especially if there's cakes.

Alan - I like your plan. RoFL followed by track racing. Perfect. I'm planning on two 25s in the morning (tandem then solo) so legs should be nicely warmed up. :?

Tamar

I suggest that you take a break in the afternoon and and watch the action. 2 25s seems more than most could manage, but I admire your resolve. I think the weather will be a deciding factor for me - If it looks wet I'll do the longer RotFLs.
