Would like to take the opportunity to once again say a big thanks to Toks for organising the event. Got there early and saw some of the races. One of the riders had a pretty impressive handle bar mustache (a rare sight in the modern peloton) which contray to accepted wisdom didnt seem to affect his arodynamics as he finished in the lead group. But on to the main event of the day........
My first road race. The B group started off at steady pace but soon sped up. I managed to hang on for about three quaters of the race, but the elastic was stretching more and more, made up a bit of ground on the inclines but finally it snapped and I was on my own, but was determined to finish and not abandon.
Thanks for the push (or two) Paul T.
Lessons learned. Need to up my game...... A lot.
