Falling leaves - final call

Postby huw williams » Fri Sep 29, 2006 9:02 am

A quick reminder that the excellent Falling Leaves ride is on sunday and the weather forecast isn't bad - mix of sunshine and showers with a strong southerly wind to blow you home after the turn at Edenbridge.

The course is short (70miles) but its tough if you want to do it fast, with a few proper climbs like Woldingham, Toys, Brastead.

Hope to see a big ACC turnout. If you're coming, be signed on and ready to ride by 9pm. Although the route is marked, there's a big advantage to riding with a group containing riders who know their way around so be ready to jump in with any likely looking pelotons that start early.

Was down for this as my first sportive, but Herne Hill has other attractions for me this Sunday now  . The only "hill" I want to see is the banking (especially after Ranmore tomorrow), and unlike Alan I won't be doing RoFL as a warm up.

Great - sounds like we'll be going mob-handed. What sort of time are people aiming for/expecting?

See you all there for 9am.

Will be away this weekend unfortunately, had a great ACC turnout last year and a welcome beer and pasta meal at the end. Cheers!
