Sorry I got your times wrong guys  , must have still had blurred vision. Well done on beating 3mins Mark.

So you can fully appreciate Mr Abrutat's achievement on his handbike, if you don't know what one is here's a pic, although he wasn't smiling like this at the top!

Cheers Marek - all this was less than two hours racing though!

Yes, and thanks to Marco for excellent navigation and helping me overcome my fears of deep puddles, swamp-like mud patches, slippery leaves, damp lycra and ineffective brakes. I returned to Sanderstead a better person.

Well done to all who competed for their 2 - 4 minutes of hell - and particularly to Tamar and her selfless duties and to Steve and Brian who were running around S Croydon among more than 1000 others.

Woke up early Sunday morning to join the road ride to the climbs but chickened out and decided to join Marco on his off-road ride as this gave me an extra hour in bed. Arrived at East Croydon BR at 9:50am as I didn't realise the start time had changed slightly. Anyway I had a great time, my first proper off road ride even if I did have my commuting slicks on still. I managed not to fall off at all and we made it in time to the Bec Hill climb in time, although covered in mud and soaked through. I spinned my low MTB gears up the hill climb, didn't seem so bad! and found the feed tent at the top and filled up (as no cafe break on the MTB ride  ) The event was great but the cold got the better of us (the MTB ride group) and we head ed home after the last ACC up the hill. Had a scarey ride home as the mud and rain meant my breaks had gone from bad to almost non existant, had to use my foot on the road to slow down a few times!
Well done to all the guys who did the climb in such conditions, maybe next year for me, but I think definitely more MTB rides as I really enjoyed it (thanks Marco) but I'll take off the slicks next time and fit new break blocks.

Pics from LondonCycleSport. Sadly no Mark :(
Sylvain looks like he's laughing, must have found it too easy :D
The spectators looking at me don't appear overly impressed with my efforts.

Cool film!

I will try posting some of mine of the ACC Beastway, including riding the course and marco's speech.

I think I got a cold staying to watch after my climb on Sunday ...
Ouch, they're not even looking.

Oh come on Sean there's a couple of derisory glances over the shoulder.
