Is there anybody in the club who services bikes and if so how much? I'm pretty cr@p with anything mechanical so at the mo my steads get taken to GB's.

Highly reccomend Peter Munden - lives in Carshalton - awesome mechanic. Clean it first though or you'll have to suffer a lecture about how crap you are while he does your bike

Very good question, Jon - one that I'd been meaning to ask.

I remember you mentioning before that Peter was your man, Huw. Does he do this just for his bezzy mates or will he do any old mug's bike? Like mine, for example? It could do with a once-over to get it in tip-top shape for the ToSH

He'll do it for anyone in the club - arrange a price with him and he'll be happy to do it - and the work is top notch, a lot more than just basic servicing should you need it - highly reccomended

Hopefully he will get round to it soon my bike is about to have a heart attack!

A friend of mine (Tony Congdon) has set up a mobile service for bike maintenence. I've not used him myself as I service my own bikes but he's a very honest guy and might be worth a look. Check out his website as it tells you which areas he covers.

How's he doing with his business?

Pedalmedic suggest that you should give your bike a full service every 5 years or 2000 miles at a cost of £80. Using that formula I would have spend about £320 on servicing, if I paid somebody to do it.
