Who was ACC's Most Competitive Rider in 2006?

Postby Toks » Fri Nov 03, 2006 1:08 pm

I was just trying to work out how many competitive rides I did this year. By competitive, I mean races/rides that I paid to enter. Obviously training rides can also be competitive but they're free :D

2 Cyclosportivs
5 (approx) Training Races at Eastway
23 BCF/ESL
2 Vet races

Total 32 Competitive Rides

I'd be surprised if anyone beats Jon or Sylvain

Not so - I had tried counting mine when you'd posted elsewhere having done about 25, and I'd come with this:

OFF ROAD
Enduro 6h 1
Bristol 12h 1
SSMM 24h 1
SITS 24h 1
SSWC 1
Beastway 9
X-Challenge 3
CX 1
TOTAL OFF ROAD 18

ROAD
Palace 3
ACC champs Eway 1
Eway 3
Hillingdon 2
Wales cyclo 1
4-up tt 1
TOTAL ROAD 11

TOTAL 29

If you could count the total time on bike then maybe!

Blimey Sylv
2 x 24hr
1 x 12hr
1 x 6hr
ALL off-road

Forget the nominees in the other thread, surely here we have the "king of pain" champion.

I think one competitive 24 hour race should count for about the intensity of Eight crit races. There you go Sylv you're the winner :D

Calm down dears ...

6h in pair = 3h
12h in team of 4 = 3h
24h both in teams of 4 = 6h each

I haven't done a 24h solo since 2003!

hi Toks, yeah around 10 or under I would guess, sometimes the only ACC guy to turn up :( , problem was I timed my holiday right in the midde so just as getting competitive I go and have a 3 week break, one week back racing and then another week away (two weekends gone) then back for the last few, which were getting pretty short due to the early nights coming in. Basically got about 5 days cycling done in August :(

14 x 10mile TT.
8 x 25mile TT.
8 x 50mile TT.
2 x 100mile TT.
1 x 12hour TT.
6 x odd distance TT.
1 x 4up TT.
2 x cyclospotives.

I make that 42. Douglas Adams would be pleased.

That's a seriously impressive Haul Jon. Can you believe on Cyclingplus the other day some guy who's actually only raced five times this season (all 1 hour crits) was telling people how important it was to take a whole month off during the winter. What a wimp!!!!! I think he's been suffering from BaseHead Fever. It catches its victims in late october and doesn't release them till March. Don't average more than 16mph, no matter what the duration, on any of your training rides or your legs might fall off. Expect artificial legs to be swiftly dispatched to all 19s and training group riders in late Feb!

Marco, you must be overtrained, take winter off, mulled wine and mince pies are just what the doctor ordered.

Cheers

Started racing 11/2/06, finished racing 23/10/06.

My rough count makes it:

1 x track meeting
12 x road races (and still got my 4th cat licence  )
1x 12hr
3 x 100 miles
3 x 50 miles
6 x 25 miles
12 x 10s
5 x other TTs
1 x Marmotte
1 x etape

45 rides if my maths is correct.
