[quote] But as RichV says it is our club and if we want something out of it we should try and put something into it, but again some information from people with past experience or with links to the committee would be helpful.
For example if I wished to organise a training session (for beginners and experienced trackies) at Calshot (?) velodrome (is this our nearest covered one) how would I go about it? I was taking with Kevin and some others about track racing at the Dinner and would love to try it out. I know AC did a session there before.
Kieran, if you want to do this:
(a) Contact Calshot find out if there is a session available at a suitable time, how much it would cost (including coaches) etc.
(b) Try and get some gauge of interest.
(c) work out if there is likely to be a shortfall between contributions from riders (I would suggest you should aim to charge riders between £5 and £8 for taking part in something like this) and the actual costs. Most of these things will pretty much cover their costs anyway.
(d) if you want the club to cover any shortfall ask Phil Nash/Tamar Collis/Mark Leadham (new Track Secretary) . They'll raise it at the next committee meeting or if you need an answer quickly it can often be sorted out by e-mail.
Good luck
I'd be interested if it was at a convenient time.
