[quote]I ride a 7 mile round trip on a bmx! I am 6ft 4" - beat that!

Top man, do you throw any tricks enroute?
As you're on a bmx I take you wear the compulsory kit - baggy trousers (at least 2 sizes to big) hanging off your arse :D .

2 miles each way, past Buckingham Palace, up the Mall, round Trafalger Square, cross Shaftsbury Avenue and up to Oxford Street. Beautiful.

I ride in my suit and tie, just bring on the wicker basket!

[quote]South Norwood hill is no problem on fixed - You would probably want to lower your gearing anyway if you are going to be pulling away from a lot of traffic lights.

Spout Hill and Anerly Hill, I'll stick to gears thanks Marco.

My daily commute, from Brixton to London Bridge, and all the way back again, is a punishing nine miles.

Who does over 30 each day?
That is quite a mission and lots of cassettes, chains, brake pads!

13 miles each for me from Bromley to Russell square.
I can only tolerate it 2-3 times a week. I'd like to live past 35.

24 miles a day for me, South Croydon to Chelsea and back can only manage it 3 to 4 days a week otherwise I’m wrecked. Someone mentioned being raced in addiscombe kit, every single day someone tries to race me addiscombe kit or not, its such a pain when feeling tired as I feel compelled to blast away from them. In the summer try to do 5 days a week. I go through tires and brake pads quickly, which reminds me must change my tyres tonight! for tomorrow.

about 23-24 miles round trip (depends on exact route) 5 days a week all year, as the logistics of getting the children to breakfast club and me to work demand it. This is the shortest work commute I've had since living in London, longest was a 50mile round trip from Crystal Palace to Egham (via streatham, merton, kingston, Staines - usually did it in summer, in winter part of journey might have been train), my first was a 30 mile round trip from Mitcham to Syon Lane. Usually on my MTB, but still needs attention after that wet MTB ride.

When working at Staines used to HATE the last leg of the return journey as I tok the most direct route home and went up the hill beside streatham common and then up Beulah hill to CP. Best time was doing it in snow in winter and seeing all the buses and cars stuck.

 I do approx 35 roundtrip a day each way includes 2 climbs, on my way out, and 3 on my way back. Norwood Hill and Red post Hill on the way out with Red post, climb up College road and then up a hill from Royal Oak Centre which brings me out just short of the top of Sanderstead Hill. Though I normally only do it four out five days - approx 140 miles a week - not sure I`d want 175 a week thats too much like preparing for a 12hr!!! It wouldn`t leave me with anything for the weekend.
