Andrew, you're not alone, apart from my commutes I haven't done any mid week sessions since September and not planning to until the new year. Must admit getting worried hearing all about the training everyone else is doing but I reckon there'll be a few cases of burn-out :lol: later in the year, plenty of time to catch up prior to the real racing (excluding Hillingdon winter series) as opposed to the club run competition.

Andrew - I've also been sitting on my arse the past two weeks. Unfortunately there's been a bike between the arse and the floor and my legs have been going round really quickly


Hey Toks were you on the turbo yesteday? I heard some houses got blown over up North London way :-)

Yeah especially now that I have a poor man's power meter (computer on the back wheel!) If all's going well I'm usually in 53/17 at about 35-36kph with AV HRT 168-173. However yesterday on the 2nd interval I was struggling to hold 31KPH despite the same AV hRT rate. It just goes to show you heart rate monitoring alone is a good guage but it doesn't really tell you how hard you're working. Especially if you consider it stays quite high if you've had poor sleep, drank loads of coffee, cardiac drift etc :D

Yeah. I'm not sure what my power output was but it didn't match the power of the Hurricane that descended over North West London. Over in Islington everthing stayed fairly stable, thankfully :D

No, Andrew,
I've spent the last 2 months on my arse.
Can't motivate myself in the winter.

I'll probably force myself out in Feb, get my but kicked all over the place by the training group for a couple of months, and then hopefully be race fit for April.

According to my training diary Matt you were out in full JB mode with the training group in late October ~29th...so not quite two months. As long as you're happy don't worry about it mate :D

Yeah its fairly basic really: ride duration, intensity, how I felt on the ride, the terrain and very occassionally who i was with. Its nice to look back every 3 months or so to see how your progressing (or not) relative to your training rides. Sometimes though I'm a bit slack and forget to log in. According to my diary I didn't ride at all in the 3rd week of November, which is not true. :D
