You can't blame the BBC for Zara P winning sports personality of the year, but you can blame them for the cr*p show that they put on last night. There should be experts from each sport, talking about their own sport and what is involved in getting to the highest levels, and putting a proper case forward for each nominee. Maybe they should have an hour programme a week before to show this, which would help the british public make a more educated vote.
As it is you have to blame the british public for voting ZP as the winner and Darren Clarke second (nothing against them personally), as most of the voters are probably couch potatoes who have never done any sport in their lives, and probably think that because her mum won it in the 70's her daughter should win to make it even, "Oh she's a lovely girl that Zara, yeah i'll vote for her, lovely girl".
Can't knock her really, european and world champion. Well done. Shouldn't have won though
As for the others;
Darren C - very sorry about your wife, total respect for playing in the Ryder cup, but your golf's not been much cop really has it?
Monty P - not done enough yet
Beth T - 100% well deserved 3rd
Nicole C - probably needs another couple of years at the top to be more recognised
Ricky H - fantastic boxer - personality, not sure
Joe C - undefeated, probably the best british performance for a long long time when he totally and utterly out boxed the american who was classed as untouchable- should have won or at least 2nd
Phil T - amazing really, at the very top of his game for 11 years. definately should be recognized ( not sure about his cardio vascular fitness though)
Andy M - maybe in a few years when he wins Wimbledon?
Jenson B - Try winning the world championship first
