Discount at Butlers

Postby Dominic » Sat Oct 21, 2006 12:24 pm

Being new to the club I am of the understanding that we can get 10% discout at Geoffrey Butlers. It occured to me while I was in there today that I have no way of proving I belong to the club if I ask for my discount.

What is the answer?

I just say i am with the addiscombe- but i must admit to going in a fair amount  - it would be a good idea if we had dated membership cards, i will see if i can do something.

I believe they have a membership list. When I got my new bike there earlier this year they did check my name. Now having spent a lot of money they now remember my face / wallet.

That's probably it. I don't go in that much. But I have vowed to use it more mainly due to the discount making it competitive with the internet. There is also the small matter of instant gratification and ogling the new bikes that you don't get with the internet 8)

This has been discussed at committee recently, for this very reason!

We are hoping to issue membership cards to paid up members, as soon as we can work out the logistics of it!

In the mean time if anyone has trouble obtaining discount I can provide proof of membership if you need it.

Don't forget, if you're thinking of buying stuff from Butlers but can wait a couple of months, they usually have a massive 20% off everything in the shop around Christmas / New Year time.

I just joined the club and was trying to buy one of the Addiscombe windstoppers in a small (for all those winter training mornings....) - but was informed they don't make them. Is there anyone from Addiscombe that could request they make one?

I've got the yellow Gore windstopper top.

Very good, keeps me nice and warm and the rain beads off and keeps me dry.

The colour doesn't go with my brand new celeste/black bike though :)

Yes Matt new Bianchi 928l carbon from Butlers.

They did have some interesting looking Planet X bikes for a really good price, but I prefered to go for the more expensive framed Bianchi.

They had 2 exactly the same size and everything which they couldn't shift so got a bonzor of a deal.

Has the Xmas sale started yet? Is it really 20% off everything?
