racing license !

After reading about George & Paul's Hillingdon exploits, and wanting to improve / get some structure and focus to my cycling, I will be taking the plunge in the New Year... Please excuse me if I ask any daft questions that have been answered elsewhere  - and thanks to Matt, Marek & Toks for encouragement and positive vibes :)

I've just got mine too. I want to start in the new year .It would be great to know what races people are planning on doing. Then maybe we could get a mass ACC turnout 8)

Got it already? I thought you'd have to wait until 1st Jan. Oh well better get the credit card out then before it hits its limit. :)

err, start at Hillingdon I think. It is the flatest isn't it? (I go backwards even quicker when the road goes uphill)

Well said Brian, it's thanks to Toks and Marek etc that I'm going to take the plunge, although I may need water-wings.

Marek has started organising short handicaps on the Surrey League circuits for a Saturday CR. I did the first, and although I suffered, it was fun and bound to be useful. When Marek is back it would be good to get a few of us novices out for them, so we could work and learn together. Should help us avoid being dropped in completely at the deep end come race time. 8)

Paul doesn't really have access to t'internet / forum so I agreed to be "Road Race Results Secretary" at the AGM. A very grand title for cutting and pasting from forum etc to email :D . This allows Paul to keep up to date, and send info on to other members without web access.

He has also asked if I can send him any race reports for member updates, so keep up the good work/write ups in the results section.

Cheers,

Andrew
