Guatemal pics

These are mainly some of the photos from my recent visit to Guatemala. I was there for a month learning Spanish and enjoyed it greatly. Good weather, very cheap, beautiful country, great people but much poverty and other problems. I stayed mainly in one place Panajachel and it worked out well. A few cycling related photos

Great photos.

I'm impressed by the colour and the light, maybe it's just the sunshine (or the careful composition) but what camera did you use ?

Mine is a fairly old canon Ixus 300 with only 2.1 mega pixels. I think that the light is probably due to the clear air, altitude, brightness of the sun and interest created by the lake, clouds etc. There are some more views here http://www.atitlan.com/slides/index.htm. It is a beautiful place. The combination of being about 15 degrees above the equator and 1560 meters (5100 ft.) above sea level makes for an ideal climate. It's never uncomfortably cold or hot. The rainy season lasts from May to October, but the sun does shine some almost every day.
