That Leda Cox is a fast lass!

I guess that explains it

Here are some of the World Championship 2006 team lineups.
Great Britain
Women's Road Race: Nicole Cooke, Rachel Heal, Helen Wyman, Charlotte Goldsmith, Emma Pooley, Catherine Hare.
Reserve: Leda Cox.

We were in a group taking short turns at the front, I was right behind her at the start of the climb, thinking I'd move up about halfway up .... took me all the way to the top to struggle to get at the front. Scary quads.

Ranked No.1 female elite in 2005, and spent most of last season riding Kermesses in Belgium - tough lass as well. You did well to hang on to her wheel.

Abdu was bloody quick but an absolute headcase, always sprinted head down, no helmet, and threw his bike all over the place. Was entertaining though. :)

Steels best nutter moment in the Tour was when he sat up mid sprint and threw his bottle at another rider (Abdu tested positive the same stage):

oh yeh forgot that. 23.2 mph, a tad faster than training group, but its flatter and shorter than the club run so not nearly as hard i would say

Yeah and no traffic lights and junctions like on clubrun!

That's pretty fast still, especially for a small-ish group. Ours was 24.6

What I find the hardest is recovering fast enough after taking a long turn at the front or chasing a break in order to tag onto a wheel when the bunch goes past you. Sometimes I get this horrible feeling I'm about to get dropped and hanging for dear life.

Also there was a time when I was trying on my own to get back onto the group that got away. They weren't far ahead, but were working as a group whereas I was into the wind all the time. For half a lap I chased without getting any closer, and in the end had to wait for the bunch to pass me.
