Appaling conditions

Postby huw williams » Fri Dec 22, 2006 3:13 pm

Ridden every day this week - despite fog and cold its really good becuase there's zero headwind - very rare in this country.

Just got lost between Banstead and Woodmanstearn though - fog was so thick you couldn't see the buildings from the road so I missed the turn for croydon and ended up in the Chipstead valley.

Great caution will be required tomorrow especially for those riding in the quicker groups - so be careful out there.

Ride South, it is better towards EG way. Stu and I rode to Brighton and back yesterday and it was fine. Maybe you should have cleaned your glasses after going to that lap dancing club on your xmas do.

Cheers

It wouldn't be my glasses that would need cleaning after a lap dancing club I reckon :-)

I have to own up that yes, I have.

Speaking of drinking - we had a band practice last night during which the drummer and guitarist drank 4 cans of Stella (each).

After practice they then drank a whole bottle of Jack Daniels between them.

How rock and roll is that?

Me and the bassist had two cups of tea each all night as we were both riding this morning. How un-rock and roll is that.

Gigs early in the new year, I want you to come along (with your trumpet)

Definately a lights job, fog's not lifted at all today. Was amazed that it was still lurking in Croydon when I went to Butler's. By the way Apples your bike's out back and looks ready for you :D . Very nice.

We can feel the building sway here on 26th floor and they have cordonned off most of the area near it as it works as a windtunnel - people have been knocked off and windows blown

Porland House in Victoria. The ride this morning was with wind behind/sideways

Riding in I found it no different to other days this week - the ride home might be a different story, though. I'm hoping that by getting into an Obree-esque crouch, I'll be able to stay upright.

It's gotten a lot worse than early this morning. I can tell by the howling noises of the wind brushing the sides and windows of the building!

First casualty too

Shouldn't be too bad going home  . I'm sure all the drivers will be aware of the conditions and make allowances for cyclists by giving us plenty of room

Or perhaps I'll have to take my helmet off for that
